· Honey

· Onion Juice

· Flaxseed

Boiling flax seed in water gives you gel that if you consume eases your throat and have soothing effects on your bronchial tubes. You can make homemade cough syrup which can be used as home remedy for a cough in toddlers, children as well as adults. Boil two to three tablespoons of flaxseed in one cup of water until it thickens. Strain it and add three tablespoons of honey and lemon juice in it. Store it and consume one tablespoon everytime you want cough suppression.

· Licorice

Licorice has natural cough suppressant properties. Using it as a home remedy for a cough is by making its tea. Take licorice root and boil it in water till half water left. Consume this tea four to five times, and it will soothe your throat, providing immediate relief from a cough.
