Acid Reflux (Acidity)

In terms of medical language, acidity is known as “Acid Reflux”. It is the condition in which level of acid increases in the stomach and it travels back to the esophagus. When looking at the internal structure of the stomach, we came to know that there is valve present at the entrance of the stomach. This value is basically a ring of muscles which is known as lower esophageal sphincter (LES). As the food passes, it closes at once.

In some cases of LES does not close completely or if opens for some period of time, acid produced in the stomach will move back in to the esophagus that causes acidity.
